The Mayor of Gravesham, Councillor David Hurley, is holding the annual charity walk “Beating the Bounds” over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2018 and he sincerely hopes you will be able to support him.
You could earn up to 1900 BetterPoints in bonuses over the two days!
On Saturday it begins at Ebbsfleet Football Club at 9am (with breakfast) and ends at Luddesdown, some 16 miles later. A bus will be arranged from Luddesdown to the start of the walk in the morning for those who wish to leave their cars at the finish. The bus will then call at the Civic Centre, en route. However, those who join at the Civic Centre, or who make their own way to Ebbsfleet Football Club should make their own arrangements to be collected from Luddesdown at the end of the day.
On Sunday the second leg (14 miles) will start from Luddesdown at the Golden Lion Pub, and transport will be provided from the Civic Centre to the start at the Golden Lion. The transport will leave the Civic Centre for Luddesdown at 8.30am. The walk will finish at the Ship and Lobster in Gravesend.
The walk will, as always, be under the experienced guidance of the Explorer Scouts with qualified First Aid support. Much of the walk is off-road and as it’s October we can’t guarantee good weather - so please ensure you have appropriate clothing and footwear.
You will need to book online at: www.gravesham.gov.uk/boundarywalk. You can of course do both days, one day or any part of the walk.
BetterPoints users, if you take part in the 'Beating the Bounds - Boundary Walk' you will earn your normal 'Get Active in Ebbsfleet' BetterPoints for walking and we will give you a bonus of 100 BetterPoints for you and the Mayor's charities for every stage of the two day event and 500 points at the end of each days walk.
Track your walking in the BetterPoints app and good Luck!
