How BetterPoints can help local good causes

We have hundreds of charities and good causes you can choose from, so why not consider donating some of  your BetterPoints to one of them, at a time when many are struggling.

GYG (Gifted Young Generation) provides young people in Gravesham aged 13-19 (up to 25 with additional needs) the chance to take part in free activities, lead campaigns they are passionate about and access support services including FREE mental health counselling.

GYG was set-up in 2013 at The Grand Healthy Living Centre and is led by a youth committee who plan and deliver projects such as anti-bullying and anti-hate crime campaigns.

They provide young people with free year-round workshops in all kinds of creative skills; cooking, singing, dance, filmmaking, coding, hair and make-up design as well as running youth clubs in the borough.

Each year they raise funds for a counsellor by producing a major show where young people perform on stage at The Woodville and run the behind-the-scenes for the show, in lighting, sound and film.

Their sessions are free so that every young person has the opportunity to take part, learn something new, have fun and make friends. They fundraise throughout the year to run new projects for young people, their most recent project being the ‘Christmas In A Box’ appeal to provide Christmas foods and gifts to young carers in the borough, and to spread joy.
