Donate your BetterPoints to great local causes
Users can donate the BetterPoints earned from the Get Active in Ebbsfleet challenge to support local charities. One such charity listed on the BetterPoints app is Hive Hope, who work to support the people of Northfleet and surrounding areas by providing food to those in crisis. They also work with clients to find longer term solutions by offering help with debt, budgeting, children's activities and employment.
Hive Hope want to expand their foodbank service by taking it on wheels. The charity are currently fundraising to buy and kit out a large van so they can offer a mobile foodbank service, in addition to their existing foodbank at St Botolph's Church.
“We are feeding 80 people on average, each week in the two hours we are open at St Botolph's. We are also supplying food to local schools who are supporting families directly. We know there are many more people who can’t get to our foodbank or are reluctant to ask for help. By taking the foodbank to different locations - we can help more people.” - Deborah, Trustee
The charity is open to suggestions for where their van should stop on it's journeys around the local area, but it will include schools, advice centres and healthcare providers.
